May 13, 2021 — Adoption of Resolution calling for Municipal Election (Resolution 2021-020)

August 4, 2021 — SOS issues proclamation for local election

August 24, 2021 — Candidate filing day for local election with Dona Ana County Clerk between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

August 31, 2021 — Write-in candidate filing day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

August 31, 2021 — Last day for candidates to withdraw

November 2, 2021 — Local Election Day

November 23, 2021 — State canvass board canvass

November 26, 2021 — SOS to issue certificate of election to candidates

December 16, 2021 — Candidate must take Oath of Office at Regular BOT Meeting

January 1, 2021 — Date candidate takes office when elected in the regular local election
